Cait Barker is a Virginian journalist reporting on politics, entertainment, and culture. She is also the Saturday morning Weekend Edition announcer on Radio IQ in Roanoke, Virginia.

She is a writer of all mediums and an overall art appreciator. Her areas of interest include music, books, theatre, fashion, dance, and culture. She is currently earning her master’s in journalism through New York University’s American Journalism Online program, where she’s deepening her hard news, investigative, and narrative reporting skills.

Cait got her start in broadcasting through WEHC Radio, where she conducted interviews, attended live music festivals and community events, and anchored the station’s weekly news broadcast. She served as the station’s 2023 Virginia Association of Broadcasters intern, and as president of the school’s radio club, helping expand WEHC’s local arts and culture coverage. Some of her early work can be found on WEHC’s “Area Code 276 News” podcast. 

Cait graduated from Emory & Henry University in 2024 with bachelor’s degrees in English literature & creative writing, and media & communications.
